Nassau University Medical Center currently has an opportunity for a Psychiatric Social Worker to collaborates a member of a diagnostic and therapeutic team and carry out casework services to the emotionally, mentally, or handicapped patients.
Specifically, you will:
- Provide intensive psychiatric casework and counseling services to patients and members of their family.
- Obtain information from patients, members of the family, outside treatment providers and all other relevant parties to assist the multidisciplinary treatment team in the assessment of patient's emotional and behavioral needs.
- Provide support casework services during institutionalization, hospitalization, or clinical treatment based on psychological or psychiatric diagnosis
- Prepare case histories/reports and maintain records.
- Attend meetings, training conferences and seminars.
We require:
LMSW (Master's degree in Social Work) from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university or a limited permit to practice as a social worker at the Nassau Health Care Corporation issued by the New York State Education Department.
