Job Summary
The Loan Closer position is responsible for the management of the closing process for commercial mortgage loan investments. These responsibilities include managing the workflow associated with specific loan closings and in recommending enhancements to overall processes, procedures, and closing documentation.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Direct, manage and facilitate the commercial mortgage loan closing process between all parties involved in that process. (e.g., Nassau CorAmerica production team, third-party clients, external borrowers/mortgage bankers, closing attorneys, service providers, custodians of original loan documents, etc.).
- Create and manage closing files in Box.com, our internal system of record.
- Initiate, monitor, and review specific documentation of due diligence agenda to ensure accurate information is recorded and distributed throughout the closing process.
- Assist in the creation and improvement of relevant closing documents, processes, and procedures.
- Research, recommend and update closing requirements in order to mitigate risk to clients
- Establish and maintain excellent relationships with attorneys, mortgage banking correspondents, borrowers and other third-party vendors involved in the loan closing process.
- Audit closed loan files for completeness and accuracy
- Provide complete, accurate and timely reporting of closing files and other Ad-Hoc reports as needed.
- Assist in other commercial mortgage projects that are key to the success of the team.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field required.
- 2 – 5 years of loan closing, lending, real estate, or related experience.
- Both general and front-line knowledge of real estate finance, investments, law and economics.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and general business software applications.
- Detailed oriented with focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, time sensitive environment and manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) skills.
- Exhibit teamwork, collaboration, analytical thinking, and self-motivation on behalf of Nassau CorAmerica and its clients.

The base salary for this position falls within Nassau’s salary band D: $60,000 - $70,000 depending upon experience
