JOB DESCRIPTION:
Analyze the EEG of mice from recordings under supervision. Seizure numbers, duration, power, and the associated video need analysis for motor behavior. Data that is quantified needs to be organized and statistics applied.
JOB DUTIES:
All analysis of video and EEG recordings will be from mice. The analysis is the EEG and synchronized video of mouse movement. On the job training in Sirenia and Spike2 software . Seizures will be marked, analyzed for their frequency, duration, motor behavior, and power. Anaylzed results will be compiled into spreadsheets and statistics performed.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in neuroscience or an equivalent discipline.
Experience with MATLAB, EEG and computers.
A basic knowledge of EEG and mouse behavior is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in neuroscience or an equivalent discipline.
Understanding of laboratory research using rodents.
Understanding of neuroscience methods and epilepsy.
Mathematical and computational skills will be valuable.
Background Investigation/Justice Center Review Requirements:
Prospective appointees will be: 1) Checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs.
