The Mortgage Banker position is responsible for building relationships and identifying customer needs as it relates to residential mortgage loans. This includes spending a significant amount of time on community involvement, outside sales activities and working with realtors and other mortgage referral sources. This position primarily deals with direct, single-family loans but should also be versed in other bank products such as home equity loans. The Mortgage Banker will monitor and assist the customer through the mortgage process to a successful closing and will be the primary point person responsible for the customer’s experience. This position also assures compliance with all bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.
Qualified candidates will have:
- Associate’s degree in business preferred, or a combination of experience and education.
- Three or more years of experience is preferred.
- Broad knowledge of real estate lending techniques and practices is required. Familiarity with loan policies and credit culture, and familiarity with the NBC’s products and services is preferred.
- Requires National Mortgage Licensing Systems (NMLS) registration under the S.A.F.E. Act.
- Patience, tact, and professionalism in dealing with customers, co-workers, and business contacts.
- Computer knowledgeable.
- Adequate verbal and written communication skills. Good judgment and the ability to relate to and work with a variety of people.

The pay range for this position is $29.00 to $43.00 per hour. This position is also eligible for performance-based incentive compensation.
