What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corporate Relations Manager position at National Bank of Kuwait - New York?
Job Purpose: Prepare credit proposals and credit reviews for new and existing relationships; submit to International Credit Committee and track approvals. Perform credit-related reports as required by NYB and IBG as well as administrative reports and tasks related to Corporate Banking’s credit and marketing functions. Work with Bank officers and industry contacts to source new prospects and expand existing relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Portfolio Relationship Management
- Manage a portfolio of clients by actively monitoring Obligor operating performance, volatility in credit profile, loan repayments and compliance with credit and other agreements.
- Responsible for all aspects of individual transactions, portfolio accounts and oversee the total NBK relationship.
- Prepare credit proposals and credit reviews as required based on analysis of an obligor’s financial and operational strengths and weaknesses, including leverage, key risk factors, cash flow, sources of repayment, debt service capacity, industry and conformance to the Bank’s credit policies.
- Monitor quality of credit portfolio including appropriateness of risk rating. Track covenant and reporting compliance, account performance, loan repayment and financial trends of specific loan portfolio segments/industries/countries.
- Complete new loan underwritings, partnering with other Officers as needed to structure transactions and negotiate and close new loans.
- Adherence to all pertinent laws and regulations in regard to Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and USA Patriot Act ((USAPA) as well as all bank policy and procedures governing same.
- Successful and timely completion of all assigned training, including ISO, HR and BSA/AML/OFAC training.
- Prepare materials and minutes for quarterly meetings of New York Branch Credit Committee and Allowance for Loan and Lease Losses Committee.
- Maintain credit files consistent with internal compliance and regulatory requirements, legal documents placed in safekeeping and prepare materials for off-site storage.
- Adhere to NBK and NYB Policies and Procedures as well as evaluate to identify inefficiencies and/or outdated processes.
Qualifications and Experience:
- An undergraduate degree, preferably in accounting, business administration or finance.
- Credit-training at a major bank in credit analysis of corporations/financial institutions/sovereigns or 3 years of experience in commercial banking to include credit analysis.
- Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication skills to facilitate working with associates, information sources, and customers.
