We are looking for an experienced production graphic designer to join our team and manage our art department.
About Us:
National Capital Flag Co, Inc. (NCF) was established in 1962 and is located in Alexandria, Virginia.
NCF has the largest offering of flags and banners in the country. Most flags are available from miniature 4x6" desktop models to 30'x50'. We carry all major flag brands for resale and all of our flags are made in the U.S.A.
Additionally, NCF manufactures on its premises, custom embroidered and appliqué flags and banners for U.S. Government Agencies, all branches of the U.S. Military, commercial customers, and private use. We are an approved manufacturer for the Department of Heraldry. Military flags and guidons are made to the Institute of Heraldry specifications. Custom digitally printed flags and banner services for convention, exhibit and trade shows are also available.
Indoor flag and flagpole accessories and ornaments for all occasions are also available which will meet the display specifications for U.S. Government, organization, military honor guard, and private use.
The Job:
We would like to find a graphic designer to manage our art department. You would be responsible for:
- Designing applique, embroidered, and printed flags using Adobe Illustrator and Wilcom Embroidery Software
- Digitize images received from customers
- Create proofs for customer approval
- Managing a team of graphic designers
- Assist in creating bills of materials for our production team to follow
- Creating processes to ensure all art is correct and flags are made to the specifications put forth by the art department
- Assist in creating production standards
- Assist with other graphic design projects as needed
Must have:
- Exceptional attention to detail
- The ability to find and follow branding and design guidelines from companies, the military, and government websites
- Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator
- A desire to learn new software
- A strong work ethic
- Good communication skills
- Experience working in a production environment
- Ability to work in a team
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
