Position Summary
This is an ONSITE position located in Bethesda, Maryland.
National Capitol Contracting is seeking an Operations and Training Manager to support the NIH, the nation's premier medical research and training institution that supports global conversation that forwards human welfare. In this position you will work closely with government and contract teams to ensure a state of readiness across the NIH regional enterprise. Key Areas of Responsibility
- Operations Management - Oversee day-to-day operations for audiovisual (AV) and housekeeping staff, schedule and manage support staff to ensure smooth event execution.
- Training and Development - Train employees on conference services, hospitality, AV equipment operation, and event coordination, Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and lead training initiatives for staff.
- Facility and Resource Management - Understand and manage conference space utilization, including appropriate room arrangements for various event types, utilize resource management systems (e.g., MS Project, ScheduAll) for effective event planning and staff coordination.
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- 5 years of experience in conference facility management and supervisory roles.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, MS Project, and resource management tools.
- Proven ability to manage AV and housekeeping operations in a conference setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (may substitute for up to 3 years of required experience).
- Familiarity with catered event coordination and hospitality services.
- Strong understanding of space management for conferences and events.
Special Position Requirements
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM, with flexibility to meet customer's needs.
Environment/Physical Demands: Many of our site campuses are large and require travel by foot, standing for long periods of time, ability to lift 30 pounds, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces
