The Role
As a Commercial Estimator, you’ll be responsible for reviewing construction plans, specifications, and bid documents to produce detailed and accurate takeoffs and estimates. You’ll work closely with sales, project managers, and vendors to make sure we’re submitting bids that are not only accurate—but winnable.
What You’ll Do
- Analyze project plans and specs for commercial flooring, countertops, and cabinetry scopes.
- Create detailed takeoffs using estimating software and tools.
- Prepare proposals and bid packages within deadlines.
- Solicit and compare vendor/subcontractor pricing to ensure competitive bids.
- Collaborate with sales and project managers to understand project goals, timelines, and client needs.
- Track bid results and follow up on awarded jobs or feedback.
- Maintain organized records of past estimates and pricing data for future reference.
- Assist with value engineering and alternate options when needed.
What We’re Looking For
- 2 years of experience in estimating for commercial construction or interior finishes (flooring, cabinets, counters preferred).
- Proficiency in takeoff software (RFMS Measure, 2020 or similar software).
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction documents.
- Detail-oriented with excellent math and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Able to manage multiple deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic estimating tools.
