About the Role
An excellent entry-level internship position with NCDMM working on-site at our customers facility Center Street Technologies. As an intern, you be presented with an opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to our additive manufacturing machines and systems through the integration of machine learning and other automation methodologies. We are seeking a motivated individual with good communication skills.
Responsibilities of the role include
Update, modify, and improve existing additive manufacturing systems
Support the development and optimization of manufacturing processes required to accurately and efficiently make large complex 3D components
Support product / process analysis and troubleshooting for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency
Assist in, and interact with team members on the design and building of tools and equipment or recommend improvements to existing processes
Support the enhancement of data collection procedures and interpretation of large data sets to develop data-driven solutions
Requirements :
Interest in 3D printing, machining, robotics, automation, mechanical aptitude
Willingness to continually improve
Highly motivated, self-starting, and passionate with an innate drive to succeed
Able to work well with and collaborate with others; build and maintain positive Team Member relations
Able to contribute to the preparation of written reports, instructions, procedures, and guidelines
Able to effectively present information to and respond to questions from team members
Some familiarity with reading technical drawings
A working knowledge of PCs and PC-based applications, especially the Microsoft Office software suite, is essential.
Some experience with SolidWorks or AutoCAD software. Siemens NX experience is a plus.
Some experience in MATLAB and / or Python is preferred
Desire to work in a manufacturing environment
Education :
College student seeking a degree in Mechanical Engineering. First-year and second-year students are encouraged to apply.
Schedule :
Fifteen hours per week minimum availability during normal working hours (Monday-Friday between 7 : 00 am and 4 : 00 pm) during the school year is preferred, with full-time availability during the summer.
