The Sexual Justice Advocate Internship program enables you to participate in the ongoing work of defending human dignity. Internships offer a unique opportunity to combat sexual abuse and exploitation while gaining new skills through hands-on opportunities that seek to prevent exploitation before it begins. Interns also enjoy abundant opportunities to meet nationally recognized leaders in the field of anti-sexual exploitation and attend education briefings. The program also offers interns an opportunity to investigate their individual strengths and develop new skills.
NCOSE is focused on mass-scale prevention of sexual abuse and exploitation and deploys the tactics of corporate advocacy, public policy, civil litigation, and grassroots mobilization to reach this. Read about some of our recent victories here.
ABOUT THIS POSITION:
The Facilities and IT Intern will provide essential support to ensure the smooth operation of facilities and IT systems, enabling NCOSE to function effectively in its mission to defend human dignity and combat sexual exploitation. This role is ideal for a highly organized and tech-savvy individual passionate about contributing to an organization committed to social change.

TERM: 13-15 weeks (1 semester), six months, or 1 year
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE*:
- Facilities Support
- Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and functional workplace environment.
- Conduct regular inspections of office spaces and coordinate minor repairs or maintenance needs.
- Manage inventory of office supplies and equipment, ensuring proper stock levels.
- Support setup and breakdown of office workspaces, meeting rooms, and events.
- IT Support
- Help maintain IT systems, AV systems in office, & communications with IT support
- Assist in configuring equipment for new hire onboarding.
- Conduct routine checks of IT infrastructure, including printers, network devices, and phones.
- Document IT processes, common troubleshooting steps, and system changes.
*Tasks may shift based on the organization’s current need and opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Passionate about opposing sexual exploitation, as well as a passion for NCOSE’s mission, vision and values
- University student or young professional
- Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 25 lbs) as needed.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
- Ability to successfully manage multiple competing tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain confidentiality
- Must bring own laptop and charger

COMPENSATION:
NCOSE internships are unpaid. However, interns may be provided a small monthly stipend based on qualifications and hours in the office.
SCHEDULE:
This position requires 24-40 hours per week. Candidates must be in the office during NCOSE’s office hours of Monday Wednesday, and Thursday 9:00am to 5:00pm EST in order to coordinate with the team. Remote work is optional on Tuesday and Friday. Evenings and weekends are typically not eligible for a NCOSE internship.
LOCATION:
This internship is at NCOSE’s office headquarters in Washington, DC.
