What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sustainability Coordinator position at National CORE?
The Building Sustainability Technician (BST) reports directly to the Director of Sustainable. The BST will be primarily responsible for assisting in the implementation of a broad-based, company-wide strategic sustainability initiatives and will assist in direct coordination of project specific green building certifications (LEED for Homes, Energy Star Homes, Enterprise Green Communities). The BST will assist to ensure that the company's sustainability efforts are measured, documented and certification documentation organized and maintained. The position requires the ability to read and understand architectural, engineering, and consultant drawings, and review construction submittals to identify where and how certification credit information is shown. The BST shall, as directed, visit National CORE projects in construction to ensure that sustainability improvements are installed with quality of care meeting the organization's standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Energy and Sustainability Analysis (in Support of Construction and Development Teams) :
- LEED for Homes (and other Green Building Certification) coordination and management - internal project management services associated with our LEED for Homes Certifications - collect, document, and manage information associated with ongoing green building certification efforts.
- Organize and maintain information associated with specific green building certification credits.
- Coordinate, as directed, with third-party consultants responsible for green building certifications.
- Research methods and strategies for improving the efficiency and delivery of National CORE's green building initiatives.
- Research, as directed, alternative Green Building Certification standards.
- Maintain organized notes and task lists that ease the access to information relating to the green building certifications.
- Coordinate the delivery of certification plaques and certificates at close of construction.
- Coordinate with National CORE's marketing team, as directed, to document project specific sustainability accomplishments.
- Other duties as assigned.
