Position Overview
We are seeking full-time or part-time Clinical Assessment Specialists to conduct Comprehensive Needs Assessments (CNA) and facilitate the intake process for behavioral health clients. As the first point of contact for initiating services, you will ensure assessments and service authorizations are completed accurately and efficiently. This role involves working with children, adolescents, and adults in their homes, schools, or community settings to gather clinical information and coordinate care.
Location: Harrisonburg, VA
Compensation: $375 per assessment (expected 6 assessments per week; potential annual income of $80,000 - $100,000
Key Responsibilities

Assessments and Intake
- Conduct Comprehensive Needs Assessments (CNA) to determine appropriate services.
- Meet face-to-face with clients and guardians (for minors) to gather clinical information.
- Complete intake forms, including obtaining appropriate releases.
- Write detailed CNA narratives in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Populate client profiles in the EHR, including diagnoses, medications, and allergies.

Service Coordination
- Collaborate with associated professionals involved in the client’s care.
- Recommend and coordinate services based on CNA findings.
- Complete referral management workflows and service authorization processes.
- Submit Service Authorization Forms via Managed Care Organization (MCO) portals.
- Interact with MCO Care Coordinators for service justifications and follow-ups.

Documentation and Communication
- Respond promptly to emails and voicemails.
- Notify local leadership and authorization specialists upon assessment completion.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments and authorization statuses in the EHR.

Team Collaboration
- Participate in team meetings and case staffings with supervisory teams.
- Provide support to clinical teams in completing assessments and authorizations.
- Review authorization approvals and address relevant assessment documents.
Qualifications

Education and Licensure:
- Must be a Resident in Counseling or hold a full Mental Health license (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT).

Skills and Attributes:
- Proficiency in G-Suite and Electronic Health Records (EHR).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
