The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s largest small business advocacy organization, looks to hire an Email Marketing Specialist to join its Public Affairs team to oversee all direct member and prospect email communciations.
Responsibilities
The Email Marketing Specialist oversees all direct member and prospect email communications for the organization to ensure consistent messaging to our target audiences. As the point person in sending all emails, this position requires a thorough review of email content and subject lines to ensure that the context is consistent with NFIB’s position and tone. This position will be involved in strategic email communications from start to finish. This position must be familiar with the latest technology to deploy messages as well as all advocacy issues, sales strategies for NFIB, and capable of quickly identifying proper tone and messaging. These communications will include (but are not limited to) eNewsletters, ad hoc member communications, prospect communications, onboarding, lifecycle retention, and re-engagement.
This position is responsible for implementation and maintenance of new lead generation software, which involves proper lead scoring of potential prospects, and communication of these prospects to respective and applicable parties.
Position will be liaison to IT department for all technical issues involving CRM and public affairs digital properties. Position is required to create platform in communicating any IT initiatives to appropriate parties.
This role will serve as POC for Digital Marketing team in absence of Director. Will provide Sr Director, Public Affairs, and SVP, Advocacy with explanation of what data is defining and any action items.
Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; work outcomes must meet and / or exceed productivity and quality standards. Must be able to work as part of a cooperative team environment and independent of direct supervision; adhere to Company and Department policies and procedures, including regular and predictable attendance. Manages and directs staff including recruitment, selection, and development in support of organization goals and objectives. Leadership responsibilities include reinforcing key organizational messages to foster employee understanding of NFIB mission and vision; exemplifies core values. Performs other projects as needed.
The Email Marketing position is a hybrid position - 2/3 days in office a week. Starting salary is $105,000.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Public Relations or equivalent. Concentration in an Internet-related activity is a plus.
- Seven (7) years’ experience in a proactive business-to-business marketing environment, including five (5) years of email marketing and advertising campaigns. Grassroots e-advocacy and/or interactive strategy development experience, a plus.
- Solid knowledge of traditional and interactive branding, marketing, planning, and internal/external communication vehicles. Direct response marketing experience, business-to-business, CRM, web site content and public policy knowledge preferred.
- Knowledge of email marketing strategies and tactics including reporting of email campaign performance (Marketo). Working knowledge of web analytics, benchmarks, and reporting (Google Analytics, etc.)
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) and expertise in Adobe Marketo Engage. Strong written and verbal communications skills necessary, with superior presentation skills.
- High-level knowledge of technology systems and software integration, database management and Web site structure, function, and management. High level knowledge of list management, audience targeting and segmentation as well as opt-in list growth.
- Strong emphasis on project management skills, including the ability to multitask, work in a team, maintain timelines and meet scheduled deadlines.
