Responsible for managing all facets of the National Fitness Partners accounting operations, including the monthly close cycle, financial reporting, internal control, and policy development. This leadership position is responsible for effectively leading the accounting team in serving the organization which performs the fundamental accounting functions necessary to sustaining a growth oriented and fiscally sound operation.
Essential Job Functions
- Oversees the daily operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, recording revenue, general accounting, and payroll.
- Develops and maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls to ensure accounting practices are in accordance with GAAP and internal policies.
- Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles and internal reporting models.
- Assist in the production of the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget variances to management.
- Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
- Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.
- Performs and manages month-end closing tasks to generate monthly individual store and consolidated profit/loss reports; journal entries; balance sheets reconciliation; and research of variances and inquiries.
- Supervises and leads Accounting team in a manner consistent with NFPs mission and core values resulting in high quality work output from a committed and engaged team.
- Prepare ad-hoc analyses and provide general accounting support to the Finance and Accounting team as needed.
- Prepare monthly analysis of “key” costs and provide analysis with opportunity for potential savings.
- Manage fixed assets and depreciation records.
