SUMMARY
This position is a hands-on Accounting Manager position reporting to the Controller and functioning as a business partner with the various teams within the U.S. finance, business operations, and sales as well as the growing international operations and sales. This role provides leadership to the accounting and finance team and is accountable for general accounting, inventory accounting, internal controls and supporting financial reporting and business analysis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

- Responsible for internal controls of operations ensuring assets are adequately safeguarded and results are accurately reported
- Support accounting and monthly close process
- Support preparation for year-end audit and tax filings
- Support the consolidated internal and external financial reporting
- Part of the corporate treasury function
- Responsible for direct day to day management of employees, including supervision, direction, coaching, scheduling/time off and performance management
- Review inventory costing, including absorption of labor and overhead costs
- Ensure accuracy of the physical inventory and reported results
- Support the analysis of potential excess and obsolete items
- Supervise AR and AP functions
- Review G/L accounts and accruals on at least a quarterly basis
- Assure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Policies
- Other projects to assist the company in achieving improved efficiency and financial performance
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong detail orientation
- Demonstrated ability to communicate orally or in written form effectively with direct reports, peers, senior managers, and executives
- Significant focus on business process improvement
- Advanced proficiency with MS Excel
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor or Masters Degree in Accounting
- CPA
- 7 to 10 years of experience in a manufacturing, distribution or reverse logistics business
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics a plus
