What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gas Engineering Team Lead position at National Grid?
National Grid is hiring a highly skilled Gas Engineering Team Lead to join our Future of Heat & Innovation department. This onsite position will play a critical role in supporting both the Materials Acceptance and Failure Analysis Lab, and the Gas Quality Lab in their daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update testing protocols to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Develop new testing protocols as required to account for emerging technologies and approve them for use at National Grid.
- Manage the FTIR equipment and develop a comprehensive database of elements encountered in the normal course of business.
- Design and manufacture products on the 3D printer for special projects and to support lab technicians in their work.
- Source materials and supplies for special projects.
The successful candidate will possess excellent technical skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders. Experience in research & development and pilot testing / field deployment of new technologies is highly desirable.
