The White Oak Region is seeking a Full-time Regional Dietary Consultant to join our team. This role will provide consultation in the areas of food preparation, service, care planning, employee productivity, and nutritional care in order to provide proper and high-quality food in a sanitary and safe environment for each resident and staff member of White Oak Manor facilities and management facilities.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a four-year degree, be a Registered Dietitian and maintain credentialing. Must have the ability to plan and organize; must have knowledge of basic food service cost accounting, menu planning, dietary therapy, nutritional assessment, purchasing procedures, sanitation, safety, equipment operation, employee hiring techniques, and departmental management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in the implementation of established departmental and corporate policies and procedures.
- Assist in organizing and planning dietary services and personnel.
- Approve standard menus on a seasonal basis.
- Assist in selection of appropriate foods and supplies to meet written menus and therapeutic diets.
- Assist in the planning, preparation, and implementation of schedules for cleaning functions and duty assignments.
- Assess and facilitate deliver of effective nutritional care to residents by working as a liaison with all disciplines.
- Assist with and review the work of the Food Service Director or Manager on nutritional assessments, progress notes, and care plans.
- Observe the serving line meal service and make recommendations as to necessary changes and improvements; observe dining room and hall meal delivery.
- Evaluate the food service system making recommendations to promote high standards of quality and nutritionally appropriate food that meets individual residents' needs and preferences.
- Promote effective inter and intra departmental communications and public relations.
- Assist in conducting in-service programs for dietary and other related health personnel
- Assist in evaluating equipment needs.
- Complete a visual sanitation and safety inspection.
- Following each facility visit, recommendations provided as needed.
- Coordinate purchasing leverage to maximize cost effectiveness.
- Assist in developing budget proposals and cost control procedures consistent with facility policies.
- Assist in planning and presentation of meetings and training courses for Dietary Managers and Assistant Dietary Managers.
- Support the Companys commitment to quality service to residents, family members and the public.
- Follow current research, literature and trends relating to nutrition and effective dietary management.
- Assist in preparing new facility kitchens for operation.
- Maintain current certifications as a Registered Dietitian. Hold confidential all Company, facility, resident or employee information.
- Report all incidents/accidents immediately to appropriate personnel (i.e., Administrator or Chief Operating Officer).
- Schedule visits to assure that the professional dietetic service needs of the facility are met.
- Continue professional education programs through workshops, seminars, memberships in professional organizations, etc., to keep abreast of new information.
- Be able to hear, speak, see, bend, stoop, stretch, push, lift, store, and move objects appropriate to department needs.
- Provide a copy of a current American Dietetic Association Membership Card and Commission on Dietetic Registration Card to verify professional membership and registration status. Provide a copy of State Licensure active status (if working in North Carolina).
