Summary

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU

The National Hockey League (NHL) is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant to support the SVP, Programming & Content.

The Assistant will provide administrative support for the Content and Programming group including creative development, programming and business support. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, brings a creative approach to complex situations, and has proven experience working as part of a team.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Perform general administrative duties, including answering phones and taking messages, processing invoices, routing contracts for signature, scheduling and coordinating meetings, managing (Outlook) calendars, entering ticket requests, completing and processing expense reports
  • Arrange domestic and international travel (air, ground, hotel, etc.)
  • Prepare and edit high-level agendas, briefing documents, and presentations/meeting materials, ensuring each document meets the NHL’s rigorous standards for clarity and precision
  • Oversee the collection, scheduling and tracking of third-party production pitches and manage correspondence with production companies and internal stakeholders throughout the pitch and development process
  • Assist on internal project management for special moments and team related activations. Support interdepartmental facilitation and workflow
  • Provide on-site support at NHL Events, as needed, working closely with internal and external teams as directed
  • Provide additional support to other members of the department as needed, contributing to a collaborative and responsive team environment

Qualifications

Knowledge Areas/Experience

Required

  • The ideal candidate will have prior experience supporting senior executives in high-profile organizations, preferably in sports and/or entertainment
  • Exhibit high energy and willingness to pitch in and help the larger team accomplish goals and work assignments
  • Be a strategic and critical thinker who is forward thinking, detail-oriented, analytical and well organized
  • Discreet and experienced in handling sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality
  • Skilled in relationship building with a sincere tone and a high level of integrity
  • Proven ability to multi-task; must be able to constantly and consistently prioritize workload of supervisor and oneself simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Monday.com)

Education/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, capable of drafting clear, polished, and compelling documents

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally is required
  • Ability to work flexible hours is required, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed

SALARY RANGE:

$60-65K

Actual base pay for a successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to: experience/training, market demands, and geographic location.
