WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU

SUMMARY
This Sr. Analyst, Finance position will report directly into the Director of Finance and will oversee all financial tasks associated with the Communications, Brand Advertising & Marketing, Hockey Development & Strategic Collaboration and NHL Store businesses of the National Hockey League.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
The Sr. Analyst will be responsible for the following tasks:
  • Oversee the day-to-day finance operations of the Communications business; including global digital editorial, public relations and corporate communications and the Brand Advertising & Marketing business; including regular season and playoff brand campaigns
  • Primary finance point of contact between Lids and the NHL for all items relating to the NHL Store at 1 Manhattan West
  • Work closely with business areas to lead and drive bottoms-up annual budget builds and forecast projections, including documentation of all assumptions and contractual obligations, in order to achieve company goals
  • Support Manager of Digital Products & Marketing and Corporate Social Responsibility, including;
    • Ensuring that all Accounts Payable vendor invoices are processed and approved in a timely fashion, with all relevant backup attached.
    • Submitting Accounts Receivable invoices in accordance with the business terms
  • Maintain contract database to track key contractual elements
  • Responsible for ensuring a timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial close; including accruals, recurring journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and variance explanations
  • Conduct frequent meetings with the respective business teams to discuss current month financials, pacing and remaining forecasts; then compiling and reviewing these business plans with the Director of Finance
  • Provide other managers and departments with information required by them to carry out their assigned responsibilities
  • Perform ad hoc special projects, as needed

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge Areas/Experience
Required
  • 3 years of experience with invoicing, accounting processes and the accounts receivable cycle
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; including pivot tables and analyzing large data sets
 
Preferred
  • Experience with business analytics tools a plus. Tagetik/Qlik preferred
  • Experience with SAP Concur or SAP S/4 a plus 

 Education/Certifications
  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance, preferred

SALARY RANGE:
 $70-85K
 
Actual base pay for a successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to: experience/training, market demands, and geographic location.
