Job Summary:
The Sr. Learning Operations Specialist is the manager of our Community platform, serving both the external needs of our Members (customers) and internal employees. Working closely with the Learning Management System (LMS) administrator, this role leads the development and execution of strategic learning initiatives and processes on our learning platforms. This role is a key contributor to our live learning events, including project managing concurrent sessions at our premiere learning event, the annual Member Information Conference (MIC).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic development of our Community platform by analyzing trends, leveraging industry best practices, and tailoring solutions to organizational needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement, solve emerging challenges, and implement innovative learning strategies.
- Partner with SMEs to assess the need for platform updates, event enhancements, and the creation of new learning opportunities.
- Develop and execute plans for the adoption of new tools and technologies, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
- Serve as a liaison to internal stakeholders and Members, communicating learning operations activity and processes.
- Develop and promote best practices for learning initiatives, ensuring alignment with platform goals and organizational objectives.
- Demonstrate a passion for learning by promoting its value and fostering ongoing improvements in learning solutions and services.
- Support Members in maximizing their use of learning products, ensuring alignment with their goals and expectations.
- Coordinate learning activity at the annual Member Information Conference (MIC):
- Lead the creation and refinement of learning content for the conference, ensuring it aligns with organizational goals and attendee needs.
- Oversee organization of concurrent sessions, while collaborating with speakers and subject matter experts.
- Serve as a key onsite representative by engaging with Members, guiding staff, and presenting sessions, as needed.
- Ability to travel as often as necessary to meet the goals and objectives of the position.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Preferred:
- Proven experience (5 years) in learning technology, instructional design, or a related field.
- Strong ability to analyze trends and apply innovative solutions to learning platforms and events.
- Exceptional organizational, project management, and communication skills.
- Experience with managing online communities, knowledge bases or other learning technologies.
- Demonstrated success in managing learning needs in large-scale events.
- Commitment to NISC’s Statement of Shared Values.
Education Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience.
