Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate payroll processing and maintaining financial records. This position requires a strong understanding of financial concepts and accounting principles, as well as proficiency in payroll software. The Payroll Clerk will work closely with various departments to ensure timely and accurate payroll operations.
Duties
- Process payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy in hours worked and deductions.
- Maintain employee records, including personal information, tax withholding, and benefits enrollment.
- Perform account reconciliation to ensure all payroll transactions are accurately reflected in the general ledger.
- Assist with accounts receivable functions as needed, including tracking payments and resolving discrepancies.
- Utilize Kronos or similar software for timekeeping and payroll processing.
- Prepare reports related to payroll, including summaries of earnings, deductions, and taxes withheld.
- Ensure compliance with governmental accounting regulations and corporate policies.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of financial concepts, including debits and credits.
- Experience with general ledger accounting and account reconciliation is preferred.
- Familiarity with Kronos or similar payroll systems is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of governmental accounting practices is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
