Responsibilities:
Gymnastics Instruction: Assist in active, age-appropriate gymnastics lessons that capture the attention and enthusiasm of 2 to 10-year-olds. Foster a love for movement, coordination, flexibility, balance, and strength in young children.
Energetic Engagement: Infuse each session with high energy, enthusiasm, and creativity to keep young children excited and motivated. Use music, games, and props to make learning gymnastics a joyful experience (all props and equipment provided).
Adaptability: Think on your feet to adapt depending on how the children show up each day. Be flexible and adaptive to ensure that each child has a positive and rewarding gymnastics experience.
Safety and Supervision: Maintain a safe and secure gymnastics environment, addressing potential risks and ensuring child safety at all times. Monitor children closely during activities and respond to their needs promptly.
Communication: Build rapport with young children, keeping them engaged and motivated throughout the lessons. Provide feedback and updates to parents or caregivers on their child's progress and development.
Qualifications:
- Energetic and enthusiastic personality, capable of captivating and motivating young children.
- Experience working with students in a sports coaching, specifically gymnastics or cheer, or physical education setting for 2-10 year olds.
- Knowledge of child development.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and connect with young children in a positive and nurturing manner.
- First aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Reliable transportation for travel to various locations and transport equipment in personal vehicle (mileage reimbursement is provided for equipment transport).
Working Conditions:
- This position is mobile, and the coach will travel to different locations, including preschools, daycares, and community centers in Philadelphia and surrounding areas (ie. Manayunk, Penn Valley, Ardmore, Berwyn, etc.).
- Flexible working hours, often during mornings and afternoons, to accommodate children's schedules.
- Physically demanding, as it involves active participation in gymnastics sessions with young children.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 6 – 10 per week
