IT Support and Infrastructure Specialist

Summary of Position:

The National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) is seeking a talented and dynamic IT Support and Infrastructure Specialist to join our Technology team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the integrity of our technical environments and various computer systems. Expertise in both macOS and Windows environments is essential, as the role involves administering, installing, and troubleshooting issues across a variety of technical systems. Additionally, the candidate will support NKBA employees by providing software training and resolving software and network issues.

The ideal candidate will perform a variety of tasks such as: upgrades, decommissioning of old hardware, backups, recovery, process documentation, monitoring/maintaining software licensing and maintenance agreements, and staying current with new software technologies, trends, and products. This position is accountable for ensuring the continuity of computer services for users throughout the organization through planning, technical leadership, and project coordination.

This role involves providing technical support, managing IT infrastructure, and assisting with strategic IT initiatives. The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and capable of handling both day-to-day support tasks and larger infrastructure projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Technical Support:

Provide support for Help Desk requests.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware and software issues.

Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of workstations, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.

Manage user accounts and permissions across various platforms (Active Directory, Google Workspace, etc.).

Manage user hardware through MDM (Mosyle)

Coordinate with vendors for hardware repairs and warranty claims.

Setup, demo, and troubleshoot A/V equipment at NKBA HQ

• Infrastructure Management:

Monitor and maintain network systems, including servers, routers, switches, and firewalls.

Oversee the deployment and updates of operating systems and applications.

Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions.

Ensure network security by implementing best practices and staying updated on the latest threats.

Work with outside vendors for support and development tasks

• Project Participation:

Assist in planning and executing IT projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.

Collaborate with IT management to identify areas for technological improvement.

Contribute to the development and documentation of IT policies and procedures.

Participate in cross-functional teams to support company-wide initiatives.

• Management Support:

Assist in training employees on new technologies and systems.

Support the IT manager in budgeting and resource allocation.

Help assess and procure new hardware and software solutions.

Support Vendor evaluation and consolidation

• Communication & Collaboration:

Serve as a liaison between the IT department and other departments to address technical needs.

Maintain clear documentation of systems, changes, and procedures.

Keep stakeholders informed about system statuses, issues, and resolutions.

Education & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 0-5 years of experience in IT support and infrastructure roles.
• Expert in supporting a macOS environment
• Experience with Mosyle MDM a preferred (any MDM experience is a plus)
• Proficiency with Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365).
• Experience with Google Workspace administration.
• Proficiency with communication tools like Slack and RingCentral.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, security, and best practices.
• Certifications such as CompTIA A , Network , or Microsoft Certified Professional are a plus.
• A/V equipment experience a plus
• Organized with attention to detail
• Excellent follow up skills
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely to non-technical users
• Able to independently plan, organize and prioritize one’s own activities

Physical Requirements

• Works in standard office building environments.
• Must be able to lift to 40-50 pounds, on occasion, such as office products, supplies and event collateral
• Must be willing to travel a few times per year (< 10% travel) and work overtime when required as per business needs.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
