What are the responsibilities and job description for the Violence Prevention Director position at National League of Cities?
The reason this position exists is to provide management and direction to the Office of Violence Prevention (OVP). The Violence Prevention Director will lead the department’s comprehensive approach to community safety challenges including all programs and collaborative efforts within the community. The OVP Director will work to reduce the risk of violence through linked strategies in partnership with government, non-profit, neighborhood, and faith organizations utilizing data-driven programs to address community needs and implement violence intervention. The Violence Prevention Director will report directly to the Chief Administrative Officer.

Minimum Qualifications :
- Must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Criminal Justice, Psychology, Education, Sociology, Social Work, Social Science, or a closely related field.
- Three (3) years’ experience in developing and implementing community-based violence prevention programs.
NOTE : Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
