Coffey Modica LLP is a leading defense litigation law firm with more than 50 attorneys in 6 offices throughout the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Paralegal to join our team in Buffalo, New York. Ideal candidates will have 3 years of experience. Knowledge in areas such as personal injury, general litigation, medical malpractice and labor law are preferred, but not necessary. This role requires a team player with a strong understanding of legal principles.

- Experience with e-filing for legal documents including discovery demands, and motions.
- Understanding of legal documents and terminology.
- Strong analytical and research skills on relevant laws, regulations, and articles.
- Manages and maintains case files in both physical and digital formats using the firm’s document management system.
- Collect, organize, and prepare legal documents and information for attorneys' review and case development.
- Strong writing skills for drafting various correspondence and basic legal documents.
- Process medical and employment authorizations.
- Communicate with clients to obtain information, provide case updates, and uphold confidentiality and professionalism.
- Coordinate and schedule interviews, meetings, witnesses, external vendors, following the clients' guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with attorneys, legal assistants, and legal administrative staff on administrative tasks to support case management.
- Assist attorneys in trial preparation, as directed by attorneys, including handling exhibits, taking notes, or reviewing trial transcripts.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Certificate in paralegal studies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Notary certification is a plus.
- Ability to handle confidential information and maintain professionalism, especially in adversarial situations.
