- Assist attorneys with case management, including drafting, proofreading, and formatting legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
- E-file documents in state and federal courts and ensure compliance with filing deadlines.
- Manage case calendars, track deadlines, and schedule depositions, hearings, and trials.
- Coordinate with clients, witnesses, court personnel, and opposing counsel.
- Organize and maintain case files (both electronic and hard copy) and retrieve necessary documents efficiently.
- Conduct basic legal research and compile case-related information.
- Handle administrative tasks such as billing, expense reports, and correspondence.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years as a litigation legal assistant
- Education: Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, or a paralegal certificate is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and case management software. Experience with e-filing systems in Texas courts is required.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of litigation procedures, court rules, and legal terminology.
- Soft Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask, and a strong work ethic.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and staff while managing individual responsibilities efficiently.
