National Pump Company, a respected leader and customer-focused provider just celebrated its 50th year in pumping technology, for the agricultural, municipal, petroleum, mining, and industrial markets. We are seeking a Warehouse Assembler for our Lubbock, Texas manufacturing branch.
JOB SUMMARY
The Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for loading and unloading of all trucks. Arranging shipments through UPS, Fed Ex, 3PL, and full truckload systems. Safely packaging, crating, skidding, and protecting all outgoing shipments to ensure safe transport to final destinations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare bills of lading, reports shipping charges, and schedule all outgoing shipments using parcel, LTL, and full truckload methods. Determines space requirements and efficient loading of trucks
- Package all items using the approved NPC packaging methods and materials to ensure integrity in transit.
- Verify All items to BOM, Pick List, and/or Packing slip prior to packaging for shipment.
- Operate and inspect Material Handling Equipment to hoist shipments from the shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area. Unloading and loading of the flatbed, box, and container trucks.
- Maintain clean and well-organized shipping and receiving area to include the outside area.
- Performs other duties assigned by Management
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Training, Experience, Skills)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in an industrial product manufacturing environment
- Mechanical aptitude
- Excellent people/communication skills
- Computer literate, general math & computing skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Experience with shipping and packaging in an industrial product manufacturing environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
The Shipping & Receiving Associate must be able to stand and or sit for long periods of time, be able to lift at least 75 pounds, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel or crouch, be able to reach all file cabinets and drawers, be able to talk & hear and be proficient with the English language in both verbal and written skills. Specific vision requirements are to have close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is frequently required to use hands, fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
