Job Description

NREL is currently seeking a DevOps Engineer on the ITS DevOps team to help the team streamline our software delivery process. The ideal candidate will have experience in coding technologies, as well as experience in building and maintaining CI / CD pipelines. The candidate will be working closely with cross functional teams to ensure that the software delivery process is efficient and reliable.

Responsibilities :

Serves as a DevOps advocate to ITS teams.

Maintenance of DevOps tooling such as GitHub, Kubernetes, Trivy, and SonarQube.

Build and maintain CI / CD pipelines for our software applications.

Monitor and troubleshoot production applications to ensure high availability and reliability.

Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and reduce errors.

Basic Qualifications

Relevant Bachelor's Degree and 9 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education / experience. Or, relevant Master's Degree and 7 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education / experience. Or, relevant PhD and 4 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education / experience. Applies extensive IS expertise in specific field and has full knowledge of related disciplines. Evaluates new hardware, software, systems tools and applications and makes procurement recommendations. Excellent leadership and project management skills. Skilled in analytical techniques, practices and problem solving. Extensive programming and architecture abilities with various computer software programs and information systems.

  • Must meet educational requirements prior to employment start date.

Additional Required Qualifications

Experience developing and implementing DevOps standards, processes, and tools.

Experience in configuration and operating systems management and data and business analysis.

Experience managing Kubernetes.

Experience working in a UNIX / Linux and Windows environments.

Familiarity with observability and monitoring APM tools.

Proficiency with internet technologies, programming languages, database systems and infrastructure.

Ability to adhere to design principles, policies, and implementation deadlines.

Ability to communicate detailed information verbally and in writing.

Annual Salary Range (based on full-time 40 hours per week)

Job Profile : IT Professional IV / Annual Salary Range : $97,800 - $176,000
