What are the responsibilities and job description for the NREL Sustainable Manufacturing Alliance for Research and Training Industrial Assessment Center Internship Program position at National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL)?
In conjunction with the Department of Energy, SMART IAC, engage students with backgrounds in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to have opportunities to learn and apply deep knowledge of sustainability (energy efficiency, waste stream reductions) and advanced manufacturing. IAC fellows will have access to specialized internships that enhance their knowledge of industrial energy efficiency alongside professional engineers and scientists.
This is a 10-week, full-time paid internship during the summer of 2024 at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). Undergraduates will receive a stipend of $700 per week, pre-Master's graduate-level students will receive a stipend of $800, and post-Master's gradate-level students will receive a stipend of $900 per week. Participants are eligible for a $250 per week housing allowance and a travel allowance of up to $1000 for mileage or flight travel reimbursement round-trip for participants whose permanent address is 50 miles or more from NREL.
The internship is open ONLY for undergraduate and graduate students who have or will have completed the SMART - IAC training program by the Summer of 2024. The SMART – IAC is run by the University of California Irvine. More information can be found at http://smartiac.calit2.uci.edu/
