What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sewing Instructor position at National Safety Apparel?
Position Overview: Responsible for providing training to sewing operators, in accordance with NSA guidelines.
Essential Job Functions:
- Train new and existing sewing operators to work on specific machines and products, following the Sewing Training Guidelines.
- Ensure sewing operator trainees utilize equipment safely and employ methods to ensure safe operation while adhering to company quality standards and procedures.
- Help sewing operator trainees to properly set equipment to specific requirements.
- Educate sewing operators and supervisors on product/design changes.
- Evaluate candidates for sewing operator positions, conducting sewing tests and making hiring recommendations.
- Regularly and proactively communicate with leadership on training needs, processes, and issues as they arise.
Training: Provided on the job and supplemented with in-house training sessions and classes.
Qualifications:
- Proficient with industrial sewing machines, with 6 months of sewing experience
- Ability to work 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday 7:30-4pm
- Good communication skills
- Comfortable or willing to learn Microsoft Teams
