In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, site-specific safety requirements, and company safety policies, acting as a key safety liaison between the GC and project teams. This position is ideal for a safety professional with strong leadership skills and the ability to adapt to different construction environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent our company as the designated Site Safety Manager for the General Contractor, ensuring all safety requirements are met.
- Monitor and enforce OSHA regulations and site-specific safety policies.
- Conduct daily site safety inspections to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions for workers and subcontractors.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, providing detailed reports and corrective action recommendations.
- Collaborate with General Contractors, project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to promote a safe work environment.
- Maintain and submit accurate safety records, reports, and compliance documentation to both our company and the GC.
- Conduct site audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations.
- Implement and oversee emergency response plans, ensuring all personnel are familiar with safety procedures.
- Ensure compliance with fall protection, confined space, electrical safety, and hazardous materials handling requirements.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working as a Site Safety Manager on construction sites, data centers, and other large-scale projects.
- OSHA 30 and OSHA 510 certifications required (OSHA 500 preferred).
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations, particularly in the DMV area.
- Experience in safety training, site audits, and incident investigations.
- Ability to work independently and make quick, informed decisions in high-risk environments.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with General Contractors, subcontractors, and workers.
- Must be available for on-call assignments, including weekends, nights, and emergency situations.
- Must have reliable transportation to travel between job sites in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.
- CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician) or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) certification is a plus.
- Experience working with General Contractors and large construction projects.
- Familiarity with data center safety, electrical work, and mechanical installations.
- Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments, depending on project needs.
- Exposure to various weather conditions, loud noise, dust, and hazardous materials.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and climb ladders for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
