In 1989, the National Sporting Clays Association (NSCA) was created as a division of the NSSA. With approximately 15,000 members and 700 affiliated member clubs, it is the largest organization in the world dedicated solely to the sport of clay target shotgun shooting. The Opportunity : This opportunity supports the NSSA / NSCA organization as it optimizes, modernizes, and sustains the IT infrastructure and applications required to support the 15,000 members. The intent is to evaluate the IT systems, processes, and data to ensure it meets the needs of the organization and identify opportunities for improvement as feasible. As opportunities arise, this lead will support and drive small projects and initiatives under the direction of the NSSA-NSCA Operations Director and in partnership with the Technology and Innovation Committee to improve the platforms, systems, and overall technology capabilities of the NSSA.
Position Summary : The Senior IT Support Specialist will be essential to the core foundational capabilities of the NSSA / NSCA, working as part of the existing IT team to advance and mature the organization’s systems, hardware, applications, and databases. They will lead a team of 1-2 individuals and partner with the NSSA-NSCA Operations Director to oversee the daily IT operations including infrastructure, applications, and incident management. They will provide expertise in the IT space regarding any systems, processes, or resources needed to accomplish the organizational goals. This role requires a combination of technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills to effectively manage and support the team.
Key Responsibilities :
- Troubleshooting and Support : provide support (both in person and virtually as necessary) to end users and NSSA / NSCA team members as needed including but not limited to : application installations, maintenance of computer hardware, databases, printers, and networks.
- System maintenance : Ensure the smooth and sustained operations of platforms and databases, offering expertise and guidance to leaders about maintenance and upgrade requirements as necessary for both hardware and software.
- Installation and Configuration : support user accounts, configuration of accounts, and configuration of systems as needed.
- Testing and Quality Assurance : support testing and validation of new functionality or systems as they are rolled out to ensure they meet the organizational needs.
- Project Management : Leading small IT projects, in partnership with the Operations Director and Technology and Innovation Committee, ensuring they meet required timelines and milestones. Serve as the IT Subject Matter Expert to inform leaders of risks.
- Communication : Act as a liaison between the IT team and other departments, ensuring clear communication and understanding of IT-related issues, risks, or updates.
- Documentation : Maintain accurate records of IT activities, including incident reports, process playbooks (standard operating procedures) and overall system documentation.
