Job Summary:
The Front Desk Receptionist at our Midlothian location is the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and vendors entering our medical office. This role is crucial in creating a welcoming and professional environment while efficiently managing the flow of patients and handling administrative tasks. The Front Desk Receptionist is responsible for ensuring that patient check-ins, scheduling, and inquiries are handled promptly and accurately, contributing to a positive experience for all who interact with our practice.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet patients, visitors, and vendors with a friendly and professional demeanor, ensuring a positive first impression of the medical office.
- Manage patient check-ins, including verifying personal and insurance information, updating records, and ensuring that all necessary paperwork is completed.
- Schedule patient appointments efficiently, coordinating with clinical staff to ensure optimal appointment times and availability.
- Answer and direct phone calls, addressing patient inquiries, scheduling appointments, and providing information about the practice and services offered.
- Handle patient check-outs, including collecting payments, scheduling follow-up appointments, and providing any necessary paperwork or instructions.
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk and waiting area, ensuring that all areas are welcoming and conducive to a positive patient experience.
- Assist patients with any questions or concerns they may have, escalating issues to the appropriate staff member when necessary.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, including sorting, distributing, and processing any required documentation or correspondence.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations and office policies.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth office operations and effective communication across departments.
- Travel to all practice locations when assigned or needed.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- HS diploma or equivalent required
- 2 years of experience working in outpatient setting handling receptionist/front desk duties
- Experience with Athena EHR preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Must be detail oriented and able to multitask
- Must have ability to prioritize and work both independently and as part of a team
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
