Inventory Coordinator - Radiology
The Radiology Inventory Coordinator is responsible for the inventory control function in the Department of Radiology ensuring that inventory related processed are designed in an efficient and effective manner. This includes ordering, breaking down and stocking supplies in the CT, IR, General Radiology, MRI, Nuclear Medicine and Ultrasound areas. The Inventory Coordinator processes instrument and equipment repair requests and cleaning. The Inventory Coordinator works with the Radiology Managers to identify supply/inventory improvement opportunities and any other duties as assigned. In addition to providing an organized and clean environment, the Inventory Coordinator is responsible for maintaining a database of inventory items. The Inventory Coordinator provides optimum customer service to all Radiology entities requiring supplies and/or equipment. The Inventory Coordinator develops and maintains a reliable inventory management system and works with vendors, purchasing, and supply chain to control costs on an ongoing basis. This position requires a self-assured, well-organized person with leadership ability. This role requires complete working knowledge of Pyxis, Lawson, and Mobile Aspects systems for par and inventory management.

Responsibilities
- Performs ‘par level’ restocking functions for routine Interventional Radiology supplies on a daily basis.
- Orders, breaks down and stocks supplies in collaboration with department managers and leaders purchasing, and supply chain.
- Maintains a current inventory database and establishes an expiration management system.
- Establishes a reporting and evaluation frequency that drives measurable results for overall inventory performance in collaboration with managers and leaders.
- Identifies ways to improve inventory structure and reduce inventory costs. Implements changes once approval for suggestions is obtained.
- Maintains a clean, neat environment. Submits Biomed, environmental and engineering work orders as needed.
- Uses proper inventory management skills such as rotating stock, checking for outdated materials, coordinating compliance with recalled materials, etc.
- Communicates with the purchasing department to ensure proper delivery, maintain accurate supply pricing information, and communicates information on backorder items.
- Processes instrument and equipment cleaning and repair requests. Helps trouble shoot equipment malfunctions.
- Works effectively with Clinical Teams and SCIS personnel to ensure best practice inventory management is utilized in Radiology and routinely reviewed for enhancements.
- Able to communicate operational, inventory, and equipment status to manager and other staff members via one on one interaction and group meetings.
- Oversees cycle counts and semi-annual physical inventories.
- Maintains annual service agreements for ancillary equipment and supplies.
- Ensure crash carts and other equipment are inspected timely in collaboration with Supply Chain and Biomed Dept.
- Provides inventory reports as requested from Manager for Mobile Aspects and Pyxis inventory.
- Ensures compliance with EOC and JCAHO readiness rounds regarding supply and equipment storage.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES REQUIRED
1. Education: High school graduate required, some college preferred.
2. Knowledge of supply distribution and materials management terminology.
3. Ability to understand and apply standards of infection control.
4. Ability to understand and apply inventory management skills.
