Job Description Summary
Provides emergency medical services and treatment to Emergency Department (ED) patients. Evaluates and stabilizes patients in accordance with hospital and departmental policy.
Job Description
Essential Functions:
- Assesses the patient's condition and provides appropriate emergency medical care, monitoring and adjusting treatment as necessary.
- Administers medications and performs advanced medical procedures as directed by ED nursing staff or the physician.
- Assists with the transport of patients between the ED and other NCH medical facilities.
- Maintains and operates equipment and supplies needed for emergency care.
- Collaborates with staff, outside vendors, consultants, and physicians to ensure quality patient care.
- Maintains and reports accurate patient care documentation.
As required by listed licensure and/or certification requirement.
Licensure Requirement

Certifications
- Certified by the State of Ohio as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic, required.
- Current CPR Certification. BLS for healthcare provider, required.
- PALS within 18 months of hire, required.

Experience
- One year of pediatric patient care experience, required.
- One year of field experience as Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic, preferred.
