Seeking a Procurement Manager for an electronics manufacturer serving the military and commercial industry.
The ideal candidate has 5-10 years' purchasing experience within an electronics or similar manufacturing environment. You are a proven leader experienced with supervising, coaching, and developing staff.
What you will do :
- Plans and implements activities related to the procurement of raw materials, goods, and services.
- Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine the feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives.
- Approves and qualifies vendors, obtains quotes, examines bids and makes awards.
- Follows up on all awards through completion of order.
- Negotiates with suppliers and analyzes suppliers’ operations to determine factors that affect prices and to determine the lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
- Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, and maintains necessary records.
- May prepare request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages.
- Negotiates and settles with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations, and engineering changes.
- Follows applicable anti-corruption ethics, laws, and regulations.
- Direct, coordinate and supervise all the procurement functions within the Purchasing Department. This includes but is not limited to :
- Support Sales with the preparation of proposals for customers.
- Assist buyers in the execution of their daily work, including resolving issues with delivery, quality, and invoice discrepancies.
- Identify and implement plans to reduce material costs (PPV).
- Actively support the development of Lean processes and procedures to drive down lead-time and improve quality and efficiencies within the organization.
- Ensure Suppliers meet program requirements including appropriate flow downs required on Purchase orders.
- Develop and maintain effective processes for driving material to support product line requirements for price and delivery.
- Conduct periodic status meetings as required, for communications between functional and cross-functional areas.
- Ensure appropriate purchasing tools are compliant and properly utilized to meet all established work objectives. Interface with other departments as required to control and coordinate workflow.
- Ensure appropriate compliance for maintaining AS9100 certification.
- Train and develop personnel to maintain a high level of quality and competence. Give prompt attention and handle complaints and grievances within the limits of established policy.
