Seeking a Procurement Manager for an electronics manufacturer serving the military and commercial industry.
The ideal candidate has 5-10 years' purchasing experience within an electronics or similar manufacturing environment. You are a proven leader experienced with supervising, coaching, and developing staff.
What you will do:
- Plans and implements activities related to the procurement of raw materials, goods, and services.
- Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine the feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives.
- Approves and qualifies vendors, obtains quotes, examines bids and makes awards.
- Negotiates with suppliers and analyzes suppliers’ operations to determine factors that affect prices and to determine the lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
- Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, and maintains necessary records.
- May prepare request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages.
- Negotiates and settles with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations, and engineering changes.
- Direct, coordinate and supervise all the procurement functions within the Purchasing Department.
- Assist buyers in the execution of their daily work, including resolving issues with delivery, quality, and invoice discrepancies.
- Identify and implement plans to reduce material costs (PPV).
- Ensure Suppliers meet program requirements including appropriate flow downs required on Purchase orders.
- Ensure appropriate compliance for maintaining AS9100 certification.
- Train and develop personnel to maintain a high level of quality and competence. Give prompt attention and handle complaints and grievances within the limits of established policy.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree required
- Experience in Purchasing, inventory, Planning and MRP systems.
- Experience working with lean manufacturing processes and principles.
- Experience with ITAR and EAR99 part classifications during PO placement.
- Strong planning, analytical and networking skills are required.
- Strong negotiations skills.
- Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook E-mail, Costpoint.
- Familiar with the transmission of technical data using secure mail.
Salary : $95,000 - $135,000
