Job Summary
The Dual Diagnosis Program Director is responsible for ensuring the effective management and coordination of services for Far Northern Regional Center (FNRC) clients within the NAMHS network. This role involves training and educating NAMHS providers and therapists on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), monitoring client referrals, and assisting with crisis situations and advocacy for FNRC clients. The Dual Diagnosis Program Director also provides essential medical services, such as administering monthly antipsychotic injections, particularly in situations where clients are unable to visit the clinic due to quarantine, high support needs, or paranoia.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining current list of all Far Northern Regional Center clients being served at NAMHS and contracted sites.
- Training all NAMHS Providers and Therapists on Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities
- Monitoring new client referrals to Far Northern Regional Center by NAMHS professionals
- Assisting with crisis calls and advocacy for Far Norther Regional Center clients served by NAMHS
- Providing medical services, such as monthly antipsychotic injections for Far Northern Regional Center and NAMHS clients when situations present, such as quarantine, paranoia resulting in the inability to come to the clinic, high support needs resulting in the inability to come to the clinic, etc.
- Designing monthly newsletters for all NAMHS staff, including continuing education related to IDD
- Upon request of Far Northern Regional Center or NAMHS providers: education of residential care staff/family members related to preparation for medication management appointments, medication compliance, and other, as requested
- Promoting medication compliance and submitting med requests.
- Monthly quality improvement chart audits by providers and reporting
- Developing program designs as requested by NAMHS.
- Collaboration with local mental health agencies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in CA.
- A strong foundation in nursing principles and practices.
- Experience working in a medical office or inpatient setting.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
- Experience working with individuals with co-occurring mental illnesses.
- Psychiatric experience required.
- Proficiency in geriatric care and trauma medicine.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and specimen collection, and processing.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with industry developments.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50.00 - $58.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
