ABOUT THE JOB
As an artisan baker, you’ll work alongside three other bakers. You’ll work anywhere from 35-40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 7 am to roughly 3 pm. These hours will vary depending on our volume for each day. Your main responsibilities will be helping with the daily production of bread and other baked goods we produce. You will assist in overseeing the production of our products from start to finish. Some of the duties include measuring, mixing, weighing, shaping, and final packaging.
HERE’S A GENERAL OVERVIEW OF A TYPICAL DAY:
- Dividing up the beginning of the day duties so everything can run smoothly and efficiently
- Calculating how much sourdough starter we need for the day and measuring it out
- Assisting with measuring/scaling ingredients
- Mixing the batches of dough in our floor mixer properly
- Working alongside our other bakers to scale out and shape the bread
- Scoring and prepping bread before it goes in the oven
- Removing bread from the oven once it’s finished baking and transferring to cooling racks
- Bagging the bread once it’s cooled
- Various cleaning duties
REQUIREMENTS
- Must have at least 1 year of baking experience
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must have a form of reliable transportation and the ability to travel to and from our kitchen located at 9546 Allisonville Rd, Suite 106, Indianapolis, IN 46250
- Must be available Monday through Friday, 7 am to 3 pm
- Must be able to be on your feet for up to 8 hours a day
