Position's Purpose
To continually improve the overall health of our clients' soils and lawns through environmentally responsible fertilization and weed control practices. Under the supervision of the Plant Health Care Manager you will apply compost teas and extracts, bio stimulants, organic fertilizers and chemical treatments to client properties in an efficient and professional manner that adheres to safety protocols and promotes excellent customer service.
This position is employed during the Landscape season (approximately March through October) with the opportunity to join our Landscape Maintenance crews for Fall clean ups and our Snow Removal team during the winter months if you chose.
Responsibilities
- Apply organic herbicides and other chemical treatments using the appropriate equipment such as sprayers or backpack applicators, ensuring accurate and uniform coverage.
- Properly use, maintain and care for equipment, tools and vehicles.
- Safely and appropriately mix and use chemical products.
- Regularly inspect, maintain, and calibrate application equipment to ensure proper functioning and minimize downtime.
- Follow best practices to minimize environmental impact, such as preventing overspray, runoff, and contamination of non-target plants and water bodies.
- Maintain accurate records of herbicide applications and any adverse reactions or incidents.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- 2 years experience applying Pesticides
- Valid driver's License with driving record acceptable to Company's insurance carrier
- Ability to do math calculations for mixing and applying landscape chemicals
- Ability to communicate site conditions and BMPs both verbally and via smartphone applications or tablet in English (bilingual in Spanish a plus!)
- Ability to keep detailed chemical applications related records throughout the day
- Lift and carry at least 50 lbs of while walking on uneven, outside terrain
- Work up to 10 hours per day in inclement weather with daytime high temperatures of 100 degrees Fahrenheit (with OSHA specified breaks and potable water)
- Use full range of motion in upper and lower body to safely walk, lift, carry, stoop, bend, pull, push, squat and stand.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States. We are an EEOC employer and participate in E-Verify.
- QS in Turf Pest Control and Ornamental Pest Control (preferred!)
