What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sector Controller, Services position at Natives of Kodiak Incorporated?
KOMAN Holdings, LLC has an opportunity for the career minded Sector Controller with federal government contracting experience to support our Services division. This position is fully remote.

Essential Functions:
- Establishes and oversees coordination of the Service Divisions annual planning process to ensure the consolidated annual plan is completed timely and accurately.
- Works with subsidiary General Managers to develop annual budget and financial forecasts.
- Develop internal accounting controls and recommend improvements to current internal accounting control procedures.
- Monitors actual performance of Service subsidiaries, analyzes variances, and reports findings to stakeholders.
- Coordinates with Service subsidiaries and the Vice President of Accounting and Finance to incorporate the companys financial data into various business reports, which will involve utilizing and analyzing third-party data/metrics, company historical data, trends, and forecasts.
- Analyzes new opportunities for enhancing business growth.
- Coordinates with the subsidiaries and the Vice President of Accounting and Finance to develop the companys consolidated financial reporting practices in cooperation, to include Balance Sheet, Income Statements, Cash Flow Statement, and other standard reports. Produces reports and schedules on an ad hoc basis.
- Prepares for, coordinates, and participates in external financial audits and supports tax return preparation.
- Presents financial reports to executive leadership on a monthly and annual basis consistent with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP).
- Assist the risk function for the organization, to include identifying and analyzing potential risks, earning capacity, and success of the company and develops and carries out appropriate action plans.
General Management:
- Develops short and long-term financial strategy road map for business sector in coordination with the Vice President of Accounting and Finance.
- Oversee subsidiary accounting team to meet the companys deadlines and objectives.
- Participates in development of annual Finance department budget and manages expenditures accordingly.
- Continually assesses financial systems, process and procedures, and identifies and executes improvements.
- Lead or support projects in other functional areas from time-to-time based on business needs and individual skillsets, bandwidth, and interests.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelors in accounting, Finance or similar areas of study required.
- CPA strongly preferred.
- 5-8 years accounting experience working for a Federal Government Contractor accounting for professional service contracts (e.g., WIP Schedules, Cost Plus, managing multiple indirect cost pools and allocation bases in compliance with respective contracts and/or Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), etc.), preferably in a multi-entity environment.
- Experience working in a DCAA compliant accounting system.
- Experience with DCAA and other 3rd party governmental cost compliance audits.
- Experience using JAMIS ERP software is highly desired.
- Strong Computer Skills: Requires advanced competency in Microsoft Excel and ability to be the computerized accounting systems super user, comprising the payroll, A/P, A/R, general ledger, and reporting modules. Able to process and integrate data from different software systems.
