POSITION DESCRIPTION
Hospital Software Analyst II is the fully experienced journey-level classification, performing the full scope of and software application programming and analysis work with minimal supervision, including design and program development tasks. Incumbents’ research, access, develop, evaluate, modify, document, implement and train on complex software applications.
Examples of Duties
- Provides clients with general directions to improve application processing and to resolve problems.
- Prepares project status and related reports.
- Programming ability in SQL.
- Develops and/or assists with analysis and design of custom queries, screens and forms to support proposed work processes.
- Analyze and triage existing NPR and/or SSRS reports; identification of new reports that may be required.
- Creates online forms, templates and databases to meet department and user needs.
- Conducts feasibility studies which includes reviewing and evaluating existing software, developing cost/benefit needs assessments, and recommending changes to improve efficiencies and resolve problems; analyzes systems and procedures in defining problems prior to programming; includes analysis and design, identification and implementation of "best practices".
- Creates and prepares user documentation and training materials/sessions; conducts user-training sessions for medical professionals.
- Plans and coordinates project implementation that includes assisting department contacts with initial run of new and/or revised systems; contacts members of data processing support service units to coordinate timely delivery of completed projects.
- Provides support for dictionary analysis and development, and parameter analysis/configuration; provides support for dictionary conversions as needed.
- Analyzes a variety of information to determine how to deploy the system so it performs the functions the client wants automated; updates, revises, and evolves analysis models to reflect the client's requirements and environmental (e.g., computers, operating systems) constructs and constraints.

Education: Bachelor's degree in information systems or related field; and
Experience: Both Levels:
One to two years’ experience in systems analysis or computer programming in a healthcare environment.
Hospital Software Analyst II
One to two years of progressively responsible analytical experience performing a variety of information technology systems analysis, design, development, installation, implementation, or technical support duties in connection with information technology systems, healthcare related computer systems or analysis of operational methods and designing information technology systems to meet desired results in the healthcare environment.
Additional Information
- Natividad requires that all incumbents pass a pre-employment physical/medical assessment.
- Natividad will conduct a thorough background and reference check process which includes a Department of Justice fingerprint check.
- Employees who drive on County business to carry out job related duties must possess a valid CA Driver License for the class vehicle driven.
- Employees must have and show their original Social Security Card and a valid CA Driver License or CA State ID prior to the first day of work.
- Incumbents may be required to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
