Nat-Su Healthcare is looking for a Counseling Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist to join our team. We are expanding our psychological assessments for our residential and outpatient clients, currently only adults. Often our clients have complex histories that may influence biological and psychological aspects of their functioning. We are looking for a skilled psychologist who can help with differential diagnoses, diagnosing traumatic brain injury (TBI), cognitive functioning, learning disorders, ADHD, and personality disorders. Additionally, we would like them to hold a small caseload of clients and run one of our many groups.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform psychological assessments for residential and outpatient clients.
- Diagnose and treat emotional, mental and behavioral disorders.
- Provide a complete psychological assessment report with recommendations.
- Provide clients with referrals to other therapists, clinics or facilities as needed.
- Participate in off-hours call rotation with other clinicians.
- Provide individual and group psychotherapy.
- Conduct administrative tasks.
- Patience, especially when working with complex clients who may be resistant to treatment.
- Interpersonal skills, including being able to relate to clients with complex histories.
- Able to administer and interpret WAIS, WJ, MMPI-3, TOVA, Vineland, as well as consider other assessments that may be needed
- Able to complete paperwork in a timely manner and able to communicate effectively those results to clients and their clinical team
- Critical thinking to assist in making an accurate diagnosis to recommend proper treatment, identifying nuances between biological, psychological, familial, and cultural interactions.
- Minimum of two (2) years working with substance abuse and/or dual diagnosis preferred, however, equivalent training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Native American background and/or cultural familiarity, and a willingness to learn and use traditional
- Native healing practices as part of the client’s overall treatment plan.
- Strong personal boundary skills, both as a model for clients and to maintain personal self-care.
Required Education and Training:
- Doctorate PhD degree from an Accredited Institution in Psychology (required).
- Current Utah Licensure (or license eligible) as a Psychologist..
