NRDC is seeking a Coordinator, Donor Onboarding to work with the Development Donor Systems team in our New York office.

Position Summary

Development Donor Systems is an operations team within Development at NRDC that serves as a center of operational excellence within the department. The team and each team member’s specific responsibilities continue to evolve as we build out our technology platform to support the department and organization as they grow. This is an exciting time during which we can shed old processes and ways of working that are no longer serving the institution. Flexibility, adaptability, and patience will be necessary to perform successfully in this role.

Reporting directly to the Donor Onboarding Manager, the Coordinator supports the Development, Donor Systems, Donor Onboarding function. Donor Onboarding is a gift operations unit that processes contributions, emphasizing the data integrity of NRDC’s Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database which facilitates a seamless reconciliation with Accounting.

This role is a cross-functional team player who collaborates with other teams, so donations are processed swiftly and accurately in our Salesforce database. The ideal candidate would be a data-oriented self-starter who likes to problem solve and has a strong ability to manage competing priorities.

The position you are applying for is part of the bargaining unit represented by The Washington Baltimore News Guild (WBNG / The Newsguild-CWA Local 32035).
Responsibilities:

  • Process gifts via various payment methods from all Development revenue sources (Action Fund (c4), Foundations, Major Gifts, Membership, Principal Gifts) in Salesforce.
  • Coordinate with team members and internal stakeholders from across Development (Action Fund (c4), Donor Stewardship, Foundations, Major Gifts, Membership, and Principal Gifts) as well as Accounting and Finance to ensure donations are quickly processed and properly documented for audits.
  • Open, sort, scan, and deposit checks in the office and assist with identifying those donors in our Salesforce database.
  • Create and review a variety of data integrity reports to confirm the information in our Salesforce database was entered correctly and update discrepancies to maintain quality data in the system.
  • Adhere to established data standards and practices as well as participate in ongoing process improvement.
  • Participate in the development of standard operating procedures for team processes and responsibilities to preserve the integrity of our Salesforce database.
  • Manage and track time spent on Action Fund (c4) processing.

Qualifications:
Minimum Education & Experience
  • High school diploma required.
  • 1-3 years of nonprofit development experience required
  • Salesforce NPSP or CRM database experience strongly preferred
  • Donor and financial data entry experience strongly preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with a wide range of internal stakeholders

We offer competitive salaries,
excellent benefits, and a supportive working environment. Salary is based on a nonprofit scale and is commensurate with skills and experience. Internal equity will be reviewed and considered to determine a final offer. For this position, the salary range is $55,000 to $61,000.

NRDC operates under a hybrid work model. Employees are required to come to the office 8 days per month.
