Job Title: Loader

Reports To: Quality Supervisor
Job Summary:
As a Loader, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the production line by effectively loading and aligning product carts. You will be responsible for operating machinery, troubleshooting and resolving machine issues, and maintaining a clean and efficient work environment. Your proactive approach to problem-solving will help to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production.
Key Responsibilities:

Machine Operation:
- Start and monitor the machine to ensure it functions properly throughout the production cycle.
- Load empty product carts into the lift with the thinner edge of the layers facing left.

Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution:
- Identify and troubleshoot machine issues promptly to minimize production downtime.
- Perform basic repairs or adjustments to machinery as needed.
- Report complex mechanical problems to the Quality Supervisor or maintenance team.

Loading & Alignment:
- Ensure the presence of the retort check card.
- Operate Loaders using a button or toggle-switch system to raise and lower product carts to the correct position.
- Align the product carts with the step chain and supervise the pusher arm during the loading process.
- Re-align the product cart for each new layer to ensure proper and efficient loading.

Production Monitoring:
- Replace full product carts with empty product carts as needed to maintain continuous production flow.
- Monitor the line to ensure it is running smoothly; clear any obstructions from the loader promptly.

Cleanup:
- Clean the work area and machinery thoroughly at the end of each shift or as needed.

Additional Duties:
- Perform other related tasks and duties as assigned by the Quality Supervisor.
Qualifications:

Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in completing paperwork accurately.
- Strong math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Basic computer skills for operating machinery and data entry
- Effective troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve machine issues.

Interpersonal Skills:
- Effective teamwork and communication skills to interact with employees at all levels.

Physical Abilities:
- Ability to lift and handle materials consistently.
- Capability to operate a pallet jack and other equipment safely.
- Ability to work in a production environment with fluctuating temperatures and noise levels.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to see, speak, hear, read, walk, and stand for extended periods.
- Capability to pull, push, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and balance.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Extensive walking required throughout the shift.
