Paraeducator - Special Education

Eddy Elementary School
DESCRIPTIVE STATEMENT
OF POSITION :
Position requires the following :
- Ability to work under the direction of special education and general education teachers;
- Provide support and services to students to meet educational goals and objectives;
- Ability to collaborate with staff in and out of the classroom;
- Work effectively with students to monitor behavior at lunch, recess, and throughout the school day;
- Understanding of principles of ABA (applied behavioral analysis) helpful but not required;
- A willingness to be trained in ABA principles and Safety Care / de-escalation strategies;
- A willingness to use de-escalation strategies and physical management if necessary;
- Ability to collect data under the direction of the general education teacher, special education teacher, school psychologist, or principal;
- Flexibility and a positive attitude required.
QUALIFICATIONS :
High School diploma required and college coursework preferred. Ability to perform necessary physical activities to fulfill job responsibilities.
SALARY :
Per Paraeducator Contract
