MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or GED certificate.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Public Administration or a related field.
1 Year of experience in accounting, auditing, budgeting or closely related financial activity or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience using spreadsheets and databases is desired.
Proficient in Microsoft Skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook)
Valid Driver's License (subject to motor vehicle review).
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:
Reviews and audits assigned work order closeout packets; performs proper close out process for project work orders completed in Excel and SAP.
Verifies detailed budget information in SAP for specific Project IDs such as ensuring all work orders settle to the correct account numbers, correct Business Area usage, and proper elements entered.
Works with all NTUA districts, departments, and divisions to assist in the coding and input of data for reimbursable projects in SAP; acts as a support by providing guidance on required close out processes.
Reviews and interprets data from a large computerized database system and analyzes information in efforts to resolve accounting or financial problems.
Completes various financial reporting or assignments by using SAP to extract data into Excel spreadsheets; analyze and provide data of relevance to the requested report(s) to be completed.
Uses data to create charts, graphs, Pivot Tables, and other functions in Excel that demonstrate and communicate financial information.
Maintains both general and special ledgers expenditures, audits and verifies account adjustments; assist team members with this task.
Assist with the end of the month closing process in completing prerequisites in scrubbing month-end entries, validating team members' work, ensuring balancing entries and completing settlements as instructed by supervisor; use SAP to complete closing.
Prepares various written correspondences, summaries, and analyses to provide concise comprehensive reports and printouts to inform supervisor of current NTUA financial activity.
Suggest strategies or techniques under the current process and procedures that would improve the workflow, increasing efficiency and effectiveness.
Participates in the annual financial audit by gathering documents sampled, providing files and supporting documents, and addressing questions to independent auditors pertaining to the entry.
Promotes excellent customer service in accounting needs to recommend, develop, and maintain solutions to problems, handles customer inquiries and problems related to accounts; complies and compares information and performs calculations, participates in development, implementation, and monitoring of goals and planning objectives.
Assists in the annual inventory for on-site physical inventories if needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
