Responsibilities You will perform a variety of metal repair, fabrication, plan , layout and structural disassembly / assembly of aircraft and aircraft components. You will work from drawings, manuals, technical directives and instructions. You will use hand power tools and metal working tools to repair, manufacturer and / or modify aircraft or aircraft engine assemblies or parts. You will manufacture and install patches, splices, reinforcements and the use of replacement parts to repair damaged components. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and / or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is : ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION INCLUDING : 1) Examining, repairing, manufacturing and modifying sheet metal parts and components of aircrafts in order to install straight edges and / or regular curves; 2) Forming sheet metal using hand and power tools to executive projects efficiently; 3) Planning and laying out work in accordance with blueprints, technical manuals and engineering specifications; 4) Disassembling, repairing and modifying to process aircraft, aircraft engine structure and components. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence.
