What are the responsibilities and job description for the Principal Nuclear Mechanical Systems Engineer position at Naval Nuclear Laboratory?
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is a leading institution in the development and implementation of advanced nuclear propulsion technology. Our team is seeking a highly skilled Principal Nuclear Mechanical Systems Engineer to join our Site Mechanical Systems Engineering group.
This role involves providing technical support for various onsite mechanical systems, including HVAC, sanitary sewer, domestic water, deionized water, and boiler systems at the Naval Reactors Facility. As a Principal Nuclear Mechanical Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for developing maintenance procedures, promoting and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment, and providing effective project management and accountability of engineering schedules.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 1 year of relevant experience; or Currently or previously EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; or SRE qualified.
You will also need to possess excellent communication skills, knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, and demonstrated ability to recognize and solve technical problems to ensure plant success. Familiarity with standard MS Office applications is also required.
In return for your expertise, we offer a competitive salary range of $76,400.00 - $117,000.00 annually.
