Duties
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 pay band (GS-11 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyzing and evaluating the applicable provisions of an Environmental, Safety and Health (ESH) program to ensure compliance with governmental regulatory agencies, state and local statues and regulations in support of ship construction and repair industry.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). This position is part of the Department of Defense Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project. The NH-03 broadband level encompasses positions equivalent to GS-12 and GS-13. This position has a control point; thus the salary range may be capped at GS-13, step 05, which is equivalent to $119,135. If you're current salary is above this amount, your salary may be matched.
This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
Several vacancies may be filled.
A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.

Duties
- You will determine the direction of the Environmental, Safety and Health (ESH) office and will be held accountable for the effective implementation and conduct of all ESH Programs.
- You will review new or revised policy directives or program materials of higher headquarters or regulatory agencies, determining applicability and scope of impact on ESH programs.
- You will provide administrative and technical supervision to Safety and Occupational Health Specialists, Environmental Protection Specialists and assigned enlisted personnel.
- You will coordinate ESH programs with local Navy activities to ensure that private shipyard contractors working on home-ported vessels are in full compliance with laws, regulation and standards applicable to each specific facility.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
